McGuire Entrepreneurship alum opens Dickey's Barbecue Pit with family

UA Alum Jeffrey Grynkewich and his family will be starting a new era of Barbecue in Tucson on January 13th as they open Tucson's First Dickey's Barbecue Pit at 4210 N First Avenue. Jeffrey graduated from the McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship in 2006. “I am happy to be in a position where I can finally utilize all I learned in the entrepreneurship program, and am even happier to be doing so with my family.”,said Jeffrey. Jeffrey will be opening the store with his father, Gary; a recently retired attorney, acting as general manager and sister, Julia Greenspon, acting as co-manager. The Grynkewich's decided to become franchisees of Dickey's after visiting Dallas and tasting the food. “We were hooked from the moment we ate it, once we tasted the slow cooked meats and decadent sides we knew we had to become part of the Dickey's Family.”

January 13th, the Grynkewich family will welcome the public in to be wowed, by the Dickey's experience. Free ice cream at the end of the meal, sodas in Big Yellow Cups and kids eat free with paying adults on Sundays! The Grynkewich family is also planning on a second location in Marana tentatively scheduled to open at the end of 2009.
